CBS dominated the first Tuesday of the February sweep in key demos behind “NCIS” and “NCIS: New Orleans” — the top two shows of the night — while NBC’s “Chicago Fire” had some heat in primetime’s final hour as it kicked off another crossover storyline with “Chicago Pd.”
According to preliminary national estimates from Nielsen, “NCIS” (2.6/8 in 18-49, 18.6 million viewers overall) and “NCIS: New Orleans” (2.2/7 in 18-49, 16.4 million viewers overall) were down a bit from their two January episodes but easily won their timeslots in 18-49.
The “NCIS” shows beat their combined ABC-NBC-Fox-CW time slot competition in total viewers, and CBS did that for the night as well. CBS notes that “NCIS: New Orleans” is averaging a larger overall weekly audience (18.63 million in most-current Nielsen numbers) than any drama at this point of a season since ABC’s “Desperate Housewives” in the 2004-05 season.
