Bungie Has Released a Brand New Update for Destiny

Landing on all platforms increasing the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, the patch sees new Matchmaking settings make their way to Control.

Damage Referee has also been extended, with Bungie explaining: ‘We’ve taken additional steps to increase the emphasis on connection quality.

“Skill ratings will be less a factor in finding you a match. Lag will be even further diminished.

“Enjoying a game with your friends who are more/less skilled than you are will be easier, but your opponents will be more random, so you will stand a better chance of getting your ass kicked – or vice versa.

“There is still some form of protection to insulate the casual players among us from the most hardcore, but those considerations will have much less impact on the technical quality of the matchup.

Meanwhile, Bungie still intend to release a massive spring update, which will bring new content to The Taken King, as well as a Destiny sequel in 2017.

Community manager David Dague said: “We’ll be plotting more specific waypoints as time goes on.

“Right now, there are hundreds of passionate people at Bungie working to turn the plan for Destiny’s future into the adventures, dangerous enemies and glittering treasures that await.

“We’re also gathering up details for spring as the team begins to lock it in.

“Prior to the holiday break we mentioned a second, larger update slated for Spring.

“That content release will feature a significant Light increase, a bunch of new gear to earn and equip, and new challenges for PvE players seeking some more fun experiences and replayability.

“The team is focused on delivering  a large expansion later this year, and a full Destiny sequel in 2017.”
