Buffalo Ships Pogoplug-based CloudStor Remote Sharing drive

Buffalo is now shipping the CloudStor. The network-attached storage is one of the first third party drives to use Pogoplug’s remote sharing service and turns the built in hard drive to a remotely accessible drive. The service is free and just requires controls to set what files are accessible. Plus the unit acts as a regular home NAS and can share media over UPnP. Mac owners can use it as a networked Time Machine, and everyone can use a uTorrent client on the drive itself to get files without having to leave a computer running.

Versions come with either one 1TB drive or two; the second drive can be set up as a mirror for extra backup. Either has to connect to a network through Ethernet but can talk directly through USB. Prices start at $150 for a 1TB version and move to $210 for a 2TB edition. A 2TB CloudStor Pro gets a faster 1.6GHz processor for those who push the limits of the drive with hard use.
