THR is reporting that “Breaking Bad” actor Bryan Cranston, who seems to be everyone’s new favorite actor, is “in negotiations” for a part in Marc Forster’s World War Z, the zombie apocalypse adaptation of Max Brooks’ novel of the same name. The project is already in production at Paramount, and they’ve been shooting on location for the last month, with Brad Pitt starring in the lead role as UN representative Max Brooks. Cranston’s role is said to be “small but notable” or “small but flashy”, but details are being kept a secret for now. I’m sure he’s playing a vital character in some part of the story.

Plot

World War Z follows agent of the UN Postwar Commission as he interviews survivors of the global zombie takeover known as World War Z. The book consists of a collection of anecdotal stories, and I’m assuming that Bryan Cranston might play a character in one of those. The screenplay was written by Matthew Michael Carnahan and J. Michael Straczynski. The cast is also said to include Mireille Enos, James Badge Dale, Lucy Aharish and Elyes Gabel.
