The writers of the Disney Channel series announced via Twitter that Will Friedle will appear in season two, reprising his beloved “Boy Meets World” role of Eric Matthews, and will be joined by William Daniels as Mr. Feeny.

In a long-awaited announcement, the writers teased that Friedle will first appear on an episode titled “Girl Meets Mr. Squirrels.” William Daniels, who made his first “Girl Meets World” appearance in the show’s pilot, will also be returning, the writers tweeted. The gang will pay a visit to Mr. Feeny’s house this season “to retrieve something from the past.”

Fan-favorite Rider Strong will make his first visit “Girl Meets World” this Friday when Shawn finally visits the Matthews family for Christmas, and will have an expanded role in the second season, the writers teased. Strong has also directed episodes of the show.

“Shawn, Eric and Mr. Feeny will be an important part of season 2. Lives will change. People will grow. People won’t,” the writers tweeted Wednesday.

Season two will continue the story of Riley (Rowan Blanchard) and her parents, Cory (Ben Savage) and Topanga (Danielle Fishel). Several “Boy Meets World” alums have already appeared on the sequel series, including Lee Norris as Stuart Minkus, not-so-coincidentally father to Riley’s friend Farkle (Corey Fogelmanis), and Danny McNulty as Harvey “Harley” Keiner, bully-turned-janitor.

With Feeny, Eric and Shawn all present and accounted for, fans of the show are scrambling to determine who will be the next alum to appear.
