Xbox Live’s Larry Hryb (Major Nelson) has released the annual list of the twenty most played Xbox games for 2012. Hryb released separate lists for Xbox 360 Live games and Xbox Live Arcade.
The lists for Xbox 360 Live titles were calculated based on the average Unique Users per day between January 1, 2012 and December 31, 2012, while the top Arcade list was based on full versions purchased in the same time period. One point of interest is that 12 of the top 20 titles were not released during 2012, good games apparently have a long after life.
