Apple has hired Washington insider and former NFL lobbyist Cynthia Hogan to be its new vice president for public policy and government affairs for the Americas, reporting to Apple Vice President of Environment, Policy and Social Initiatives (and former EPA head) Lisa Jackson.
Hogan has spent the last two years as a lobbyist for the National Football League, but prior to that she was an aide to Vice President Joe Biden, and helped shepherd Justice Sonia Sotomayor through her nomination process.
Hogan had served as a aide to Biden in the early 90s and was also Staff Director for the bipartisan Senate Judiciary Committee earlier in her career. She will begin her new role lobbying for Apple on April 29.
