ABC has picked up the Kerry Washington-produced comedy Man of the House to pilot, with Alyson Hannigan attached to star.
Written by Baby Daddy executive producer Frank Pines and black-ish alum Vijal Patel, the hybrid sitcom is a family comedy about two recently divorced sisters who decide to move in together to raise their kids under one roof, including a young football star left to figure out what manhood means in a world where he’s now completely surrounded by females.
The How I Met Your Mother star will play Jessie, a caring social-worker who was shocked when her husband left her. With nowhere else to turn, and against her better judgment, she moves her son and pre-teen daughter into the home of her narcissistic, ball-busting sister Charli and her even more-wicked daughter.
Washington will executive produce with Pilar Savone of her production company Simpson Street. Gail Berman and Joe Earley will also serve as executive producers for The Jackal Group.
