Oscar winner Alicia Vikander (Ex Machina) is set to star in The Imitation Game and Passengers director Morten Tyldum’s psychological thriller The Marsh King’s Daughter.
Based on the best-selling novel by Karen Dionne, Vikander plays a woman living a seemingly ordinary life but us hiding a dark secret within: that her father is the infamous ‘Marsh King’ – a man who kept her and her mother captive in the wilderness for years.
After a lifetime of trying to escape her past, she is forced to face her demons when her father unexpectedly escapes from prison. Elle Smith and Mark L. Smith (The Revenant) have adapted the script which Tyldum, Smith, Teddy Schwarzmanm and Keith Redmon will produce.
Shooting is scheduled to begin principal photography this summer. Vikander will next be seen in next month’s Tomb Raider film.
