Adult Gamers Getting Ill Using the Nintendo 3DS

Nintendo is dealing with reports the 3DS’s 3D effect is making some adult gamers ill. Players at a 3DS demo event told  Nikkei that the glasses-free effect either fatigues their eyes or makes them nauseous, forcing them to switch back to 2D to play. Holding steady helps but doesn’t prevent the effect from happening within five to ten minutes if it happens.

The effect isn’t universal and wasn’t reported at E3, when the media first had access to the 3DS.  Most like us here at ToT, had just a short amount of time to see the screen and weren’t exposed to real-world gaming conditions.

Nintendo hasn’t responded to the new worries
