Starting today, owners of Android smartphones will no longer be able to download and install Adobe’s Flash Player Mobile application, which the company has ceased developing.
Adobe announced that it would halt Flash development late last year, though it is still providing maintenance and security updates. Flash enables some web content, including video, to play within the browser.
Apple’s iOS platform never supported Flash, though RIM’s BlackBerry platform did.
