Adobe has introduced Generator, a new set of features for Creative Cloud subscribers using Photoshop CC and Edge Reflow. The technology simplifies asset generation, which otherwise requires several steps. Tagged layers and groups in Photoshop, for instance, can now be automatically saved and updated in real-time as individual files, letting people quickly spit out images based on the latest revisions to a document. Layers can be exported as JPEG, GIF, or PNG files, with options like compression or scaling for Retina displays.

Edge Reflow CC has gained one-click imports of Photoshop CC assets, including both images and text. For third-party developers, meanwhile, Adobe has provided an open-source project on Github, which will enable outside apps and services to have Generator-like tools that integrate with Photoshop.

Generator is a free update for existing Creative Cloud subscribers. Creative Cloud, however, costs $20 per month for access to a single app, or $50 per month for access to all apps.
