Adam Sander’s Happy Madison Productions is planning a feature-length adaptation of the short film Bad Toys II, says a story at The Hollywood Reporter.

The film, which you can watch in the player below, was directed by Daniel Brunet and Nicolas Douste, and blends animation with live-action as the focus shifts between a child playing with his toy cars and the intense action sequence that is playing out within his imagination.

The big screen version is said to involve a father who, through his son’s toys, recaptures the excitement of his childhood.

Happy Madison has two other toy-centric films in development. They’re working on the Hasbro board game adaptation Candy Land and are, meanwhile, planning an animated film based on the company’s Tonka Truck brand.

Brunet and Douste are attached to executive produce the feature film version of Bad Toys II.
