ABC Family has announced January premiere dates for all of its returning series, including the winter premiere for the fifth season of Pretty Little Liars. For fans, the last episode of the series was its most shocking and deadly yet when SPOILER ALERT Mona (played by Janel Parrish, now doing pretty awesome on Dancing With the Stars) was killed.
Parrish will still be a series regular on the show, appearing in flashbacks, essentially taking over the role that Alison (Sasha Pieterse) previously had for the show’s first three seasons, and the main focus of Pretty Little Liars‘ characters will be finding out who killed Mona and why.

Chasing Life: Monday, Jan. 19, at 9 p.m.
The Fosters: Monday, Jan. 19, at 8 p.m.

Pretty Little Liars: Tuesday, Jan 6, at 8 p.m.
Switched at Birth: Tuesday, Jan. 6, at 9 p.m.
Overall, ABC Family’s schedule remains pretty much the same that it has always been, with the exception of Chasing Life. The show, which centers on Italia Ricci’s April, a 24-year-old journalist who seems to have everything for her, but then must face newfound personal and professional problems when she is diagnosed with leukemia, is moving from Tuesday nights to Mondays at 9 p.m., where it will be facing some possible competition from The CW’s Jane the Virgin. Chasing Life, which comes from Greek creator Patrick Sean Smith, was just renewed for a second season last week by ABC Family.
