Universal Pictures is developing Monster Mash, a monster-themed musical based on the famed 1962 song by Bobby “Boris” Pickett.
Plot details are being kept under wraps but is likely to revolve around the studio’s classic monsters like Dracula and Frankenstein. Black List writer Will Widger will pen the script and Marty Bowen will produce.
Grammy-nominated music video director Matt Stawski, who helmed CeeLo Green’s “F— You” music video in 2010, penned the original treatment for the project and will direct.
Universal will open The Invisible Man later this month.
