Zotac International launched today a “palm-sized” ZBOX MI521 nano XS, a new series of mini-PCs packed with Intel’s dual-core i3-4030U processor and Intel HD Graphics 4400.

“Zotac is a pioneer when it comes to packing as much performance as possible into the smallest form factor possible. Our latest ZBOX MI521 nano XS series takes that same formula and gives it more performance and connectivity to create a mini-PC that’s perfect for office productivity or multimedia tasks,” said Tony Wong, CEO, Zotac International.

The specifications show that the new mini-PC provides two DDR3L-1600 SO-DIMM slots supporting up to 16 GB of memory and support for an mSATA SSD. There’s also a 3-in-1 memory card reader, gigabit Ethernet, dual-band Wireless AC and Bluetooth 4.0 connectivity, and HDMI and mini-DisplayPort connectors, which supports dual monitors.

The new mini-PC also includes two USB 2.0 ports on the front, two USB 3.0 ports on the back, a 3.5 mm audio output jack and a 3.5 mm input microphone jack. Zotac reports that the mini-PC supports DirectX 11, is Windows 7/8 32-bit/64-bit ready and includes Intel’s suite of technologies including Clear Video HD, InTru 3D, Quick Sync Video and more.

This new line actually includes two models: the full kit and a barebones model. The full kit includes 4 GB of DDR3L memory and a 128 GB mSATA SSD for a higher price, whereas the barebones model requires the customer to supply their own HDD/SSD and memory modules.

We’ve reached out to Zotac for pricing and availability.
