YouTube Removes An AD For The Nun From The Service

A new six-second ad for The Nun, the upcoming third spin-off film in The Conjuring franchise, has been pulled from YouTube following complaints about its nature .

The preview was streaming before other videos would load on YouTube and displays a volume sign decreasing in volume when the titular nun with a blood-soaked mouth appears shrieking.

One Twitter user issued a warning for those who: “have anxiety or just straight up hate jumpscares” with the tweet scoring 132,000 retweets. YouTube responded saying the ad violates its ‘shocking content’ policy and is no longer running.

Set in 1952 Romania, the film follows the investigation of the mysterious death of a nun at a monastery. Demian Bichir, Taissa Farmiga, and Jonas Bloquet star.

The Nun which opens September 7th.
