Microsoft’s Interactive Entertainment Business team members will have access to a special edition white and silver Xbox One and as ‘Thank you’ for their efforts. The ultra limited edition console carries special “I MADE THIS” etching on the front panel with a reference to “LAUNCH TEAM” also present. In addition to the unique console and custom controller, staff will also receive a Kinect 2 sensor, 12 months of Xbox Live, all first-party game titles and a special Achievement all on the launch day.

This is not the first time Microsoft has made such a gesture towards its staff. In the past it has give all of its employees Windows Phone 7 handsets, and subsequently Windows Phone 8 handsets and Surface RT tablets. However, on this occasion, the special white console appears to be targeted specifically at the full-time employees from the division responsible for bringing the Xbox One to market. People who worked on the first Xbox were given team members only all green Xbox.

The official launch date for the Xbox One has not yet been revealed, although Microsoft has cut the launch countries from 21 to just 13 in 2013. Customers who managed to get in their pre-orders before they have sold out will also receive a special version of the console and controller etched with “Day One Edition,” although it will ship in the same mix of matte and shiny black as the subsequent run.
