Microsoft is planning to introduce changes to the Xbox One’s “Reputation” system. Xbox boss Mike Ybarra wrote on Twitter that Microsoft is “looking at Reputation and have changes in the works.”

He didn’t offer more specifics, but teased that an announcement about the changes is coming “soon.”

Currently, there are three categories of Reputation score, which you can see in the image above. As of July 2014, the “large majority” of players are in the Green category. This score is displayed on your gamercard.

“The more hours you play fairly online without being reported as abusive by other players, the better your reputation will be,” according to Microsoft. “The algorithm looks to identify players that are repeatedly disruptive across the community on Xbox Live. The vast majority of players do not regularly receive feedback from other players and, thus, will stay at the ‘Good Player’ reputation level.”

Microsoft’s Reputation algorithm claims to adjust for false reports from people attempting to grief other players or hurt the Reputation score of highly skilled users. According to people responding to Ybarra’s tweet, this is exactly what’s happening right now in some games, including Gears of War: Ultimate Edition.
