whoamiremake1Having already grossed nearly 6 million Euros since opening in Germany in late September, Baran bo Odar’s new crime-thriller Who Am I, which premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival, has gotten the attention of Warner Bros. who have bought the rights for an English language remake.

Odar’s second film following The Silence stars award-winning German actor Tom Schilling as a young man who gets pulled into the world of computer hacking which includes a crime spree that makes his group of hackers the targets of the Russian mob.

Released by Sony International, the project was brought to the studio through Odar’s reps at UTA, which excited the execs to the film’s remake potential after watching it, as well as being interested in putting Odar in the director’s chair for some of their other scripts in development.

The remake will be produced by Kevin McCormick and his company Langley Park.
