Updated Google Wallet Has Better Support for Loyalty Cards

Google updated Google Wallet to add a fresh feature for the US and rework the interface. SingleTap lets users with a Wallet-equipped phone like the Nexus S 4G both buy something using NFC but take advantage of any discounts or rewards at the same time, instead of having to handle them one at a time. A Featured Offers addition helps by showing a Groupon-style daily deal list where users can tag them to take advantage when they check out.

The Android app also now has a better way of organizing loyalty ‘cards’ and more gracefully shows what happens when using the Google Prepaid Card during an NFC ship, such as the store details, what money is changing hands, and when the sale is taking place.

Google is adding more stores with the needed NFC hardware, including Chevron gas stations, D’Agostino, Faber News Now, and Gristedes Supermarkets. Google hasn’t said when more devices, besides the Nexus S 4G, will support its wireless checkout.
