Universal Pictures Gives Danny Boyle’s Musical A Release Date

Universal Pictures will wide release the forthcoming untitled Danny Boyle musical comedy on Friday, September 13, 2019. There is currently no other major release scheduled for that date.

Academy Award-winning director Boyle (Slumdog MillionaireSteve Jobs) joins celebrated screenwriter Richard Curtis (Love ActuallyNotting Hill) for a new comedy from Working Title starring Lily James (Mamma Mia! Here We Go AgainBaby Driver), Himesh Patel (BBC’s EastEndersDamned) and Kate McKinnon (TV’s Saturday Night LiveThe Spy Who Dumped Me).

The Daily Mail reported English singer Ed Sheeran (Game of ThronesBridget Jones’s Baby) is also in talks to appear in the film, which is rumored to be about a man who wakes up one day to find he is the only one who can remember the songs of The Beatles. Sheeran is expected to write new music for the film, which will also include Beatles hits.

The Untitled Danny Boyle/Richard Curtis Comedy will be produced by Working Title’s Tim Bevan and Eric Fellner (Les MisérablesDarkest HourBridget Jones’s series) alongside Matt Wilkinson (Kaleidoscope) and Bernie Bellew (Steve Jobs). Curtis and Boyle will also produce, while Nick Angel and Lee Brazier serve as executive producers.
