Nexus 5T-Mobile has quietly lowered the price of the Nexus 5 just a little bit, making it more competitive with the Google Play Store pricing.

The price has dropped by $54 through T-Mobile online. When the Nexus 5 first went on sale through T-Mobile on November 20th it cost $450 total – broken down as $41.99 up front and 24 monthly payments of $17. Now, you can get yourself a Nexus 5 for $0 down and 24 monthly payments of $16.50, which adds up to $396.

On the surface, that seems like it is still quite a bit more expensive than buying through the Google Play Store, but actually it isn’t so bad. Once you add in tax and shipping through Google Play, it would cost you $381; but, your 16GB Nexus wouldn’t actually ship until January 17th. If you’re going with T-Mobile anyway, and don’t have the up front cash, $16 difference might be worth it to get your Nexus faster.
