Images anonymously sent to Greek site Techblog have revealed an as yet unannounced addition to Sony’s Xperia lineup. Codenamed Tapioca, the Android 4.0 device appears to be a budget-level addition to Sony’s handset offerings.

The photos reveal a design largely in keeping with recent Xperia models, with the display somewhat segmented from the rest of the chassis. The ST21i sports a 3.2-inch, 480×320 display, and is believed to be powered by a single-core Qualcomm 800MHz processor. The Tapioca will have 512MB RAM built in, and its three-megapixel camera, though capable of 640×480 video capture, will have no LED flash.

Sony has yet to release further details or confirmation of the device, though some expect that it will launch in the European market sometime in July for around €150 ($199). Though somewhat similar in design to Sony’s previously-announced Xperia sola, it is unknown whether the new handset is capable of using the “floating touch” interface featured on the sola.
