Some Motorola Xoom users who have sent their tablets to be upgraded are receiving notices that the company will not be able to meet its promise of a six day turnaround. Several readers have commented at Droid Life that they have received an email stating that the company is “still in the process of completing your upgrade.” Some of those reported getting shipping notices complete with FedEx tracking numbers before the company sent the disappointing status update.

The message reads in full:

We wanted to let you know that we are still in the process of completing your upgrade. If you received a notification yesterday with tracking information please disregard. We apologize for the delay and will send you an additional notification once the device has shipped early next week.

Others are said theirĀ  4g LTE upgrades were completed within the six days originally specified by Motorola.

The company has not elaborated on the reasons behind the delay.
