Research In Motion today officially launched BlackBerry Enterprise Service 10, its smartphone management tool for companies and governments that use BlackBerries. The new version of BES works with RIM’s forthcoming BlackBerry 10 platform, and can also manage devices running Android and iOS. The service adds a number of other features, including the ability to manage internal corporate apps and public apps from BlackBerry World, easier over-the-air activation for end users, and more IT policies.
BES 10 also includes RIM’s BlackBerry Balance tool, which helps businesses segregate the work and personal information stored on corporate BlackBerries. For example, BlackBerry Balance can be used to wipe the corporate data from an employee BlackBerry, while leaving their personal pictures, music, and settings intact. BES 10 can be downloaded from RIM beginning today.
RIM is prepared to launch BlackBerry 10 on January 30.
