Qualcomm will be releasing its own interpretation of the smart watch at the beginning of next month. The Qualcomm Toq uses a low-power Mirasol display, something which will help the always-on device to have what is claimed by the company to be “multiple days of battery life,” while also remaining visible in bright sunlight.

Able to connect to Android smartphones, the Toq will use its Bluetooth connection to display call notifications, text messages, and meeting alerts, much like other smart watches such as the Pebble and the Samsung Galaxy Gear. Qualcomm will offer a number of applets for weather and stock information preloaded onto the device, as well as a pair of wireless stereo headphones that sit outside the ear canal. The Toq and the headphones also take advantage of Qualcomm’s WiPower LE technology for wireless charging, by allowing the devices to receive power from a supplied charging plate.

Available from December 2nd, the Toq will have a starting price of $350.
