Sunday, April 10th, marked the 15th anniversary of The Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation (GLAAD) and the 22nd annual GLAAD Media Awards. These awards go to those in the media and entertainment industry who portray the gay and lesbian community in a positive, diverse, and inclusive way.
‘Project Runway: Season Eight’ had been nominated in the Outstanding Reality Television Series category. The popular reality fashion competition was up against ‘The Fabulous Beekman Boys’, ‘Girls Who Like Boys Who Like Boys’, ‘Top Chef: Just Desserts’, and ‘TRANSform Me’.
The Outstanding Reality Television Series is a fairly new category for the GLAAD Awards. It was added for the 15th Annual GLAAD Awards in 2004 at the same time the Spanish Language, Outstanding Music Artist and two Outstanding Advertisement categories were created.
