Pokepark WiiWhile it’s not a new Pokemon game, Nintendo announced the return of a recent Pokemon spinoff game for the Wii U Virtual Console. Pokemon fans can now purchase PokePark Wii: Pikachu’s Adventure for their Wii U for $19.99. Originally made for the Wii in 2010, PokePark was an action/adventure game featuring Pikachu, Chikorita, Piplup and Charmander exploring a Pokemon-themed wilderness to gather pieces of the Sky Prism. PokePark was part RPG and part platform game, as players could control Pikachu and other Pokemon in various minigames and slowly level up Pikachu’s attacks.

PokePark received mixed reviews, but was popular enough that Nintendo made a sequel, PokePark 2: Wonders Beyond, a few years later. Although the PokePark series wasn’t the first game to allow players to actually control Pokemon (that honor goes to the Pokemon Mystery Dungeon series), it was one of only a handful of Pokemon spinoff games to come out for the Wii.
