Pokemon Sun and Moon Has Issues on Older 3DS Models

Pokemon-Sun-and-Moon-3One iterative platforms that seems to have slipped through the cracks is the New Nintendo 3DS, namely because there are very few games that require you to have one. That may no longer be the case, depending on who you are and how much you like to get out of your 3DS.

The Pokemon Sun and Moon demo forces older 3DS models to soft reboot for the system to free up resources since the game consumes more power than X/Y/Omega Ruby/Alpha Sapphire. What this means is that the system has to turn on and off once you close the application to return to the main menu. Players will also not be able to use Miiverse or the internet browser outside of the game without the soft reboot, so this can affect players who like to add screenshots to their Play Journals.

Performance wise, the game still runs smoothly on the older models, with very few drops in FPS, which is far and away the most important thing. But if for some reason, you feel the need to have the most optimal experience, you will have to drop an additional $200 for a New Nintendo 3DS, as this will likely be the case with the final version of the game.
