Patty Jenkins’ Wonder Woman has grossed close to $800 million worldwide, re-invigorated DC movies, and offered one of the most well-received superhero films in recent years.
In spite of not being under a contractual option, Jenkins’ return for the sequel has been pretty much a certainty since the film opened. The only hold-up seemed to be that of negotiating suitable compensation for her work.
Now it appears that issue has been resolved with Deadline reporting that a deal is being finalized tonight which would see her return and become the highest-paid female director in Hollywood.
How much isn’t clear at this time though, but her payday and deal are said to be in line with any other male director who has performed at this level.
That likely means a jump of up to several times her payday for the first film. Gal Gadot has already been confirmed to be returning for the film which is targeting a December 2019 release.
