Panasonic has launched three updated devices from its Let’s Note range of notebooks in Japan. The 12.1-inch SX, 12.1-inch NX, and 14-inch LX models have all had upgrades to their specifications, with the 14-inch LX model being touted by the company as being the world’s lightest 14-inch notebook, weighing in at 2.5 pounds.

The LX houses an Intel Core i7 or Core i5 processor with 4GB or 8GB of RAM. Storage options include a 256GB SSD and a 500GB hard disk, while the 14-inch display has a resolution of 1600×900, and power is tipped to run for up to 11 hours on a single charge. The SX version also offiers a choice of Intel Core i5 or i7 processors, and either a 256GB SSD or 750GB drive, as well as 4GB of RAM and a 12.1-inch, 1600×900 display. The NX model opts for the Intel Core i5 processor with 4GB of RAM, a 750GB hard disk, and an identical screen to the SX models. Both the SX and NX offer 15-hour batteries, though at a heavier 2.5-pound weight.

Release dates and pricing in Japan has yet to be revealed for the new notebooks. Though it is unlikely for the range to make its way to other territories, one or more could still arrive in the US under the Toughbook name.
