NZXT’s FX V2 140 mm Fan Now Selling as an Standalone Unit

NZXT has won a handful of awards for its Kraken X61 and Kraken X41 liquid cooling loops, including an approved stamp from us in a review back in December 2014. We noted that it has the best cooling-to-noise ratio for low-noise cooling, which is mostly due to the FX V2 140 mm fans it features. Today, NZXT announced that the fan is now available as a standalone product.

The FX V2 140 fan is built for use on radiators, so it has a handful of features that enable a higher static pressure than other fans might, such as offering between 0.36 and 1.97 mm of water rise, depending on its rotational speed. The RPMs can range from 800 through 2000 RPM, and the airflow will range from 42.4 through 106.1 CFM. The listed noise range is from 20 through 37 dBA.

Thankfully, the fan does offer PWM control, meaning that you’ll be able to regulate its speed with a PWM signal from your motherboard. PWM signals not only allow for more accurate control of speeds, but also allow for lower minimum speeds, as voltage control may often have trouble keeping a fan spinning at lower speeds.

The fans have white fan blades that are encased in a black frame, making for a very contrasting appearance. This design is particularly appealing for folks building systems with a black and white theme. The casing also has anti-vibration grommets, and the cable is nicely finished with a nylon sleeve.

You will be able to buy the NZXT FX V2 140 mm fan at the end of May through NZXT’s Armory Store for a price of $19.99.
