The release date for the launch of Nintendo Switch Online has been announced.
The news came over Twitter from @NintendoAmerica , letting fans know that the launch will take place in September of this year. You can check out the tweet below.
The Nintendo website has some information on Nintendo Switch Online. Play is free for now for Nintendo Account holders until the paid service begins with the launch. You will able to play compatible co-op and competitive games by signing in with your account.
After the free-trial period, most games will require a paid online service subscription from Nintendo in order to play online. Currently the free-trial, the paid service, and online play (for applicable modes in compatible games) will be available for customers in the US, Canada, and Mexico.
This service is only for Nintendo Switch.
The official website has yet to update with any new information. The service will cost $3.99 a month, or $19.99 per year.
