Nikon’s Coolpix upgrades continued with four S-series camera upgrades. The S3300, S4300, S6300, and S9300 all have 16-megapixel sensors. The S6300 and S9300 have backside-illuminated CMOS sensors that give them much better low-light performance.

The S3300 and S4300 start off using 6X, 26-156mm equivalent lenses and 720p shooting, with the core difference being a three-inch touchscreen on the S4300 versus its non-touch counterpart. S6300 photographers get both the upgraded sensor as well as 1080p movies, a 10X lens, and an easy (sweep) panorama mode. At the top, the S9300 has a long 18X (25-450mm) zoom and built-in GPS to tag shot locations.

All four make their public appearance in February. Prices start at $140 for the S3300 and scale to $170, $200, and $350 for the successive cameras.
