The series, inspired by the 2003 Jack Black movie of the same name, premiered on March 12 and has aired four episodes. Season 2 will consist of 13 episodes. Paramount TV produces the kids’ musical comedy show, which marked the first series order for the television division of Paramount Pictures, which was behind the original film.

“School of Rock” follows musician-turned-substitute teacher Dewey (Tony Cavalero), who becomes the most unique and well-liked teacher a group of students have ever had. Although he has an alternative approach to teaching and could probably learn more from his students about history or math, he uses the language of rock ‘n’ roll to elevate and inspire his class to reach new heights as the band called School of Rock.

Ricardo Hurtado, Lance Lim, Aidan Miner, Jade Pettyjohn and Breanna Yde star as the “School of Rock” students. Jim and Steve Armogida (“Crash & Bernstein,” “My Family”) are exec producers, along with Jay Kogen, Eli Bush, plus Scott Rudin and Richard Linklater, who produced and directed the original film, respectively.
