New “Alliance Alive” Video Shows Off Its Talents System

FuRyu has released a new gameplay video of The Alliance Alive introducing the game’s “talents” system.

By learning “talents,” you can develop characters to your liking. To learn talents, you’ll use points. You can earn points by winning battles. There is no difference in points acquisition for characters who participate in battle versus those who don’t, and points will also amass for characters who you’ve yet to befriend.

You can learn talents from the menu screen. First you choose the type of talent (ability, martial arts, sword, etc.). There are certain amounts of points required to learn each talent. For example, the “Continue the Fight Ability” talent, which is an ability-type talent, costs 2,000 points and restores one SP for each turn during battle. There are also talents that are useful outside of battle, such as the movement-type “Scouting Skill,” which decreases enemy awareness on the map, and “Negotiations and Bargaining,” which lowers the prices of items at shops by 25 percent.

The Alliance Alive is due out for 3DS in Japan on June 22. A demo is available now on the Nintendo eShop.
