Microsoft has announced that it is combining the registration processes for its Windows and Windows Phone developer programs.
Any developer that has registered for either the Windows or Windows Phone developer programs will automatically be enrolled in the other. Further, it now costs less to join Microsoft’s Windows/Windows Phone developer organization.
Despite the unified registration process, developers will continue to use the separate Windows Store and Windows Phone Dev Center Dashboards to submit and manage their applications. Microsoft is offering some incentives, such as cash prizes, for developers who submit apps for both Windows and Windows Phone.
