Max Payne 3’s Xbox 360 Version Will Be On Two Discs

After an online rental service outed that Max Payne 3 will be featured on two discs on the Xbox 360, Rockstar Games has confirmed this is exactly the case.

The forthcoming third-person shooter will have half of its single-player story contained on one disk, which will be accompanied with the online multiplayer component. The second disk will feature the rest of the campaign.

Rockstar had no choice but to confirm the news after some initial confusion on Redbox’s listing. The company has, however, cleared up the issue by stating that the website will only be renting out one disk.

“That Redbox info is not accurate. Redbox only ever rent out one disc, for any multi-disc game. Max is on 2 discs for 360, so Redbox will be renting disc 1 which contains half of the single player story and the full multiplayer game,” said the company in a Tweet.

Those looking to experience the game’s full story will have to look elsewhere, then – unless you’re looking to rent out the game solely for its multiplayer component.

Max Payne 3 is currently scheduled for a launch on May 15th in North America and 18th internationally. The PC version, meanwhile, releases on May 29th in the US and within European regions on June 1st.
