Maserati LavanteThe 2017 Maserati Levante, the luxury brand’s first-ever crossover, will go on sale in U.S. dealerships this fall, with pricing starting at $72,000, excluding delivery, the brand said recently.

The Levante will make its North American debut next week at the New York auto show. When it arrives in U.S. dealerships, it will be available in a 345-hp base model as well as a 424-hp Levante S model, which will start at $83,000, the brand said. The Levante’s U.S. delivery charge hasn’t been revealed. The all-wheel-drive Levante, built in Italy, shares a platform with the Maserati Ghibli. It’s powered by a 3.0-liter, twin-turbo V-6 paired to an eight-speed automatic transmission.

Maserati will grow its dealership network in North America from 116 outlets to 130 by year end as it prepares to launch the Levante. Brand head Harald Wester said this month that he expects the brand’s North American sales pace to rise to an annual rate of 20,000 after the Levante arrives in the U.S. The brand sold 12,000 vehicles in North America in 2015.

Levante production for North America is scheduled to begin July 1. However, dealers will begin taking orders for the crossover beginning in April, the brand said.
