Panasonic has announced when it will start selling the Lumix GH3 in Japan. A release date for mid-December suggests that the Micro Four Thirds, mirrorless camera will be making its way to other markets by the start of 2013.

The Lumix GH3 will be available in three different bundles. The option to get the body on its own is accompanied by a version with a 12-35mm f/2.8 zoom lens, and another will have the 14-140mm f/4.0-5.8 zoom lens instead. A battery grip, flashlight, battery pack, battery charger, DC coupler and a stereo microphone will be available at the same time as the body, while an AC adapter compatible with the camera is already on the market.

Using a 16-megapixel Live MOS sensor, the GH3 will have an ISO range of 200 to 12,800, extendable to 125 and 25,600, and uses the Venus Engine for 3D noise reduction and multi-process noise reduction. Capable of a 6fps burst fire rate in full resolution for up to 18 shots in both RAW and JPEG formats, it can also hit 20fps at a resolution of four megapixels and using the electronic shutter. A rear 3-inch free-angle OLED touchscreen monitor can flip out to the side and tilt 270 degrees vertically, while the live viewfinder is a 1,744k-dot equivalent OLED display with 1.34x magnification and a 100-percent field of view.

Though the December 13th release date for Japan has been confirmed, the price is currently unlisted. It has been suggested that the Lumix GH3 will cost around $2000.
