Logo Adds Two New Shows, Including RuPaul Game Show

This year, Logorupaul is eyeing its biggest year ever with programming such as the eighth season of its highest-rated show, “RuPaul’s Drag Race,” paired with new RuPaul-hosted series “Gay For Play Game Show Starring RuPaul,” plus a slew of new series and events, including the broadcast of the 27th annual GLAAD Media Awards this spring.

Though it remains among the lower-rated networks overall, Logo is the only cable network in the 18-49 demo to post 10 consecutive quarters of year-over-year growth. Across its digital properties, Logo posted a 227% increase in reach and the network’s website is currently the second most visited LGBT site.

“After reaching ten consecutive quarters of year-over-year ratings growth, Logo is continuing on its track as one of the fastest-growing cable networks,” said Pamela Post, SVP of original programming for Logo. “From fresh comedic voices, to the phenomenal RuPaul and a new partnership with GLAAD, Logo will build on its momentum with a diverse slate of quality series and specials that keep audiences enthralled.”

Gay For Play Game Show Starring RuPaul” is a 30-minute celebrity-filled trivia show where a panel of six celebs help two contestants answer pop culture questions to win cash and prizes. No premiere date has been set, but it will debut this spring along with Season 8 of “RuPaul’s Drag Race.” (This year, the second season of “RuPaul’s All Stars Drag Race” will also air.) The game show is produced by World of Wonder Prods., with Fenton Bailey, Randy Barbato, Tom Campbell, Kate Fisher and RuPaul Charles exec producing with Logo’s McCarthy, Post and Tim Palazzola.

Gay Skit Happens” is a half hour, quarterly sketch comedy series. The first of the four episodes is themed around Valentine’s Day and will be hosted by “Mean Girls” alum Daniel Franzese. who joins the cast of comics — Brian Jordan Alvarez, Tara DiFrancisco, Julie Goldman, Stephen Guarino, Ken Kirby, Lyric Lewis, Courtney Pauroso, Bill Posley — to tackle all things funny in love, dating, relationships and sex in the age of social media. Vivica A. Fox will join as the host of a summer special. The show hails from Brian Graden Media, with Brian Graden, Gaurav Misra and Lois Curren exec producing alongside Joe Del Hierro, Liesel Reinhart and Logo’s Chris McCarthy, Pamela Post and Dave Mace. LB Horschler serves as executive in charge of production. The show, directed by Rusty Cundieff and exec produced by Tom Gianis, premieres Feb. 8 at 10 p.m.

Cocktails & Classics” will return with a third season in 2016. The show centers around host Michael Urie and his industry-insider friends who serve up new twists on classic films.
