Open the gulwing doors deploys the steps and a fire up a special lighting sequence to welcome your passengers to Lincoln’s reimagined Navigator. Stocked full of sensors, radars, and cameras, the Navigator Concept aims to keep passengers, motorists, and pedestrians safe, starting with automatic emergency braking—expected to be a standard feature on all new cars by 2022.

The technology ensures that, even if you’re too busy chatting and texting behind the wheel to notice the vehicle or jaywalker in front of you, the car can detect an impending crash, alert the driver, then apply the brakes—reducing or eliminating frontal collisions.

Lincoln also incorporated a lane-keeping system that vibrates the steering wheel to alert the driver when they stray from their lane. It also provides mile steering input to gently encourage the motorist to steer back toward the center of the lane.

Even the best drivers, though, can be confounded by parallel parking. So the Navigator Concept’s 360-degree camera and enhanced park assist create an overhead image that lets the operator see all around the vehicle.

Lincoln stuck some Bluetooth-capable monitors onto the back of each headrest, allowing everyone to wirelessly sync their own personal device to play games, watch videos, listen to music, or check email.
Plus, a tablet-sized screen is built into the dashboard so the driver can control the audio, make and receive phone calls, follow navigation, and tap into other applications; it also displays the temperature and current time.

“The all-new Navigator Concept reinforces our commitment to give every Lincoln clint what we call quiet luxury—vehicles and experiences that are elegant, effortlessly powerful and serene,” company president Kumar Galhotra said in a statement. “Now, we’re showing fans of large SUVs how we can exceed their expectations, without being the loudest statement on the road.”

The vehicle also boasts a 3.5-liter twin-turbo V6 engine, various drive modes (like steering, suspension, and noise levels), a spacious leather-wrapped interior with six adjustable seats, and a custom wardrobe management system.
