Get Out filmmaker Jordan Peele is rumored to be attached to produce a remake of iconic 1992 horror film Candyman via his Monkey Productions company reports Bloody Disgusting.

The rights to the franchise have reportedly become available and it’s unclear who currently holds them, the films based on Clive Barker’s short story The Forbidden. Bernard Rose helmed the original in which anyone who says Candyman five times while looking into a mirror will see him appear and be killed by his rusty metal hook. Tony Todd and Virginia Madsen starred.

Two sequels followed but the franchise has been dead since 1999. At the present time, there is no word on whether or not if Peele intends to direct.

He is currently filming his new original thriller Us for a 2019 release.
