The Hollywood Reporter‘s Heat Vision blog is reporting that G.I. Joe: Retaliation director Jon M. Chu is attached to produce the action-adventure movie Escape from “Once Upon a Time” writer Tze Chun for Paramount Pictures.
The film centers on a group of “tech-savvy criminals” recruited on a mission with Chu co-producing with Hieu Ho for his Chu Studios imprint at Paramount.
Chun previously wrote and directed the thriller Cold Comes the Night, starring Bryan Cranston and Alice Eve. There’s no word on whether either Chun or Chu might direct the project.
Chu meanwhile has Jem and the Holograms coming out later this year, his second movie based on a Hasbro toyline, to be released via Universal, and is in the process of finishing up the sequel to Now You See Me for Summit/Lionsgate, which is scheduled for next year.
