A new trailer for Joaquin Phoenix’s upcoming drama The Master has been released.
The two-minute trailer features new footage from the highly-anticipated movie, which has caused some controversy ahead of its release due to its alleged parallels to Scientology.
Phoenix stars in the film as a troubled World War II veteran who joins a religious sect lead by a charismatic author, played by Academy Award winner Phillip Seymour Hoffman.
The Master, which is directed by Paul Thomas Anderson, has sparked some controversy as Hoffman’s character is said to parallel the Church of Scientology founder L Ron Hubbard.
The Master is scheduled for release in the US on October 12. It will open on November 9 in the UK.
