Jawbone has finally revealed additional details surrounding its Up bracelet, which was first introduced earlier this year at the Technology Entertainment and Design (TED) conference. The bracelet is designed to monitor a user’s daily and nightly activity, providing insight into fitness activity, food consumption, sleep phases, and balances between active and inactive times.

The hardware and software combination logs daily activity by tracking a user’s footsteps, travel distances, pace and activity intensity, while a vibrating motor can be used as a reminder to cease inactivity. A companion app for iOS devices is also claimed to determine an optimum diet for a user’s metabolism.

When the bracelet is worn to bed, the movement data is analyzed to outline habits such as total hours slept, progression through sleep stages, and overall sleep quality. The vibrating motor provides a silent alarm, designed to gradually wake the user.

Jawbone has yet to announce pricing information, however the Up is expected to ship on September 25.
