The Wii U hasn’t been the most successful Nintendo console — it has sold just 13 million units, a far cry from its rivals. But in Japan, the console has been quite successful, both in terms of units sold and the number of games sold. For most of 2016, Wii U sales in Japan hovered around 5,000 per week. However, over the past month, sales have been steadily dropping.

Last week, the console sold just 2,100 units. The week before it has sold 2,700 units. Which isn’t a huge surprise: the Wii U is very close to being phased out in favor of the NX, which launches early next year. However, there’s still one Holiday season left where the Wii U could see a big boost in sales. Last December, the console was averaging 50,000 units sold per week in Japan thanks to new bundles.

But that might not be the case this year: according to reports, Nintendo has told European retailers that they aren’t able to order more Wii U consoles. It’s unknown if something similar will happen in Japan soon.

Here are the full hardware sales numbers for last week in Japan. Previous week in (parenthesis).
