Active noise cancellation, a technology normally found on high-end stereo headphones, is now available on the Jabra Supreme traditional-style mono headset, combined with its other technologies such as Noise Blackout 3.0 and wind-noise reduction. The Supreme features a fold-out boom arm that powers the unit on and off, and uses one mic plus and electronic chipset to generate the “white” noise that blocks ambient sound to make calls sounds clearer.
The Supreme uses the Noise Blackout technology to reduce background noise for the speaker. The unit can also stream vocal GPS instructions and features call-command by voice, making the unit entirely hands-free while worn. It also features an adjustable earhook and selection of ear cushions for comfort. It is expected to be available in October at leading retailers such as Amazon and Best Buy for $99.
Extreme II
Jabra has also released a successor to its popular Extreme short headset with the Extreme 2, now including Noise Blackout 3.0, Voice Guidance (which informs the wearer of battery level, comm status and caller ID) and HD Voice among other new features. The unit comes with a portable car charger that doubles as a headset holder and plugs directly into the 12V outlet. The headset is upgradeable via a USB connection and features the ability to connect two active Bluetooth units at the same time.
The Extreme 2 is now available from resellers and retailers and sells for $80.
