Huawei Debuts MediaPad 7 Vogue Tablet

Huawei has unveiled a new seven-inch tablet in the MediaPad range with optional voice calling capabilities. The MediaPad 7 Vogue will launch in both Wi-Fi and Wi-Fi with 3G flavors, and while the second offers the ability to make calls, the size of the device may ensure it is an occasionally-used feature rather than a complete smartphone replacement.

Behind the 1024×600 IPS LCD display is a Huawei-created quad-core 1.2GHz processor with 1GB of RAM and 8GB of expandable storage,. On the back is a 3-megapixel camera that can record 1080p video at 30fps, a front-facing 0.3-megapixel webcam, and it also includes a GPS, Bluetooth 3.0, and a 4,100mAh battery claimed to allow more than 20 hours of calling. Onboard is Android 4.1 with Huawei’s own Emotion UI.

The Huawei MediaPad 7 Vogue will go on sale initially in China later this month, at an unknown cost. It is possible that Huawei will launch it in other markets, as it passed through the FCC for testing in May.
